a bag of dog food such as 26-18 are the protein and fat levels.
The first number, 26, is the protein and the second number,
18, is the fat. Protein is for growth and maintaining muscle
strength. Fat is for energy and a healthy coat.

The first ingredient
on the back of our bag is Grade One meat meal. Many others start
with Ground Yellow Corn as the primary ingredient. Black Gold
is over 90% digestible. This is why a dog on Black Gold will
eat less and has fewer stools to clean up.

The Gold bag is
for all dogs except puppies. This one will be mostly for house
dogs, normal to low activity dogs and most hunting dogs during
the off season. This is the same grade 1 meat meal and grade
1 fat as the Black bag, just a lower amount of fat. The Gold
bag is a 24-12.

The Black bag is
for all hunting, hard working and highly active dogs. This is
our number 1 seller. Same high quality as the Gold bag, just
a higher level of protein and fat. The Black bag is a 26-18.

When comparing
Black Gold to other bags of dog food, remember that there are
several grades of meat meal. Black Gold uses only grade 1. Many
others use a lesser grade, which is not required to be on the
bag. The fat in Black Gold is also a grade 1 (human consumable)
fat. There are also several grades of fat and many others may
use a lesser grade but are not required to put that on the bag.
